Best for: People who move while presenting — standing demos, desk-level product shots, workshops — and want framing handled without an operator. Desk-bound talking heads do not need it.

The Link 2 is a 4K webcam on a motorised gimbal: it physically pans and tilts to keep you framed as you move, rather than cropping into a fixed sensor the way software tracking does. For anyone who presents standing up, demonstrates something on a desk, or simply moves while talking, that difference is the product. It also does AI voice-focus on the audio side, which helps in a room with background noise.

Insta360 launched it around $199.99 — roughly $100 below the original Link at its launch — with sale pricing near $149.99 seen during 2026, as researched in August 2026. The range matters when you compare: the Link 2C is a cheaper fixed version without the gimbal, and the Link 2 Pro sits above it, so make sure a review you are reading is about the model you are buying.

The honest comparison is against a good static webcam rather than against a bad one. Logitech's MX Brio is around the same price with better glass in some conditions and no tracking at all. If you sit still in front of a monitor, the tracking is a mechanism to go wrong rather than a benefit, and the Brio is the better buy. If you move, nothing static competes.
