Katana Cloud Inventory

Katana is cloud inventory and manufacturing software for small manufacturers and direct-to-consumer brands that make what they sell. It tracks raw materials, bills of materials, production orders and finished stock in real time, and syncs sales and accounting with the tools a small brand already runs. The one thing to know is that it is deliberately lighter than a full ERP: production planning and stock, not payroll or HR.

What does Katana automate well?

• Live stock levels across materials, work-in-progress and finished goods, with reorder points.
• Production scheduling from sales orders, so the shop floor sees what to make next.
• Integrations with Shopify, Xero and QuickBooks, which is how orders and invoices flow without re-keying.
• Pricing: from about $179–199/mo after a trial, with no free tier (Katana pricing, August 2026). Plans scale by users and features rather than transactions.

Who should skip it

Resellers who do not manufacture are paying for MRP features they will not use; a simpler inventory tool or Odoo's Inventory app fits better. Factories with 50 or more staff and complex routings should compare MRPeasy or a full ERP.
