Samsung Galaxy XR is the first headset running Google's Android XR platform, with Gemini built in and a 4K micro-OLED display per eye. For a business it is the most practical "many monitors anywhere" headset on Android: every Android app opens in a window, and Samsung added PC Connect in its 2026 updates. The one thing to know: it is a first-generation device on a platform Google controls.

What does the Galaxy XR do well and badly?

  • Price reads $1,799.99; Galaxy XR Controllers sold separately ($249.99 at launch) — samsung.com, Sep 2026.
  • 4,032 ppi micro-OLED per eye, 109°×100° field of view, Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, 545 g, and an external battery Samsung quotes at up to 2 hours.
  • Android Central, SamMobile and Trusted Reviews fault the battery life, tethered pack, fan noise, immature tracking and a thin made-for-XR app library; Spacebar's verdict was "not the future of computing".
  • Samsung announced enterprise capabilities in July 2026; confirm MDM support before a fleet purchase.
