The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 is an mmWave radar occupancy sensor: it detects a still person (down to breathing), tracks up to five people across 30 configurable zones in one room, and offers fall detection as a manufacturer feature. It fixes the classic problem of lights switching off while someone is still in the meeting room. The one thing to know is that it is Wi-Fi only and needs permanent USB power.
Zone setup takes an hour of patience. The cheaper FP1E suits single-person rooms, and the newer FP300 and FP400 extend the line. More in home automation.
Anyone wanting a battery-powered sensor or a Zigbee/Thread device should look at the FP300 or a simpler PIR sensor. Fall detection is a feature, not a safety guarantee.
