Best for: Small premises on fast broadband that want a zero-admin Wi-Fi 7 mesh and accept a subscription for security extras, per Engadget.

The eero Pro 7 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh node with two 5GbE ports, about 2,000 sq ft of coverage per unit, a 6GHz backhaul band and a three-year warranty. It is the eero most small premises should consider before the Max 7, and the one thing to know is that the useful security and parental features live behind a subscription.

Is the eero Pro 7 a good fit for a small office?

  • Two 5GbE ports per node handle a fast internet plan and wired backhaul between nodes.
  • Setup is app-driven and simple, which is the appeal; there is no local admin interface and no VLAN support.
  • Engadget's verdict was that buyers are "paying to be sold a subscription": eero Plus costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year; eero for Business is the paid tier for guest networks.

Who should skip it

Anyone wanting local control, VLANs or no recurring fees should look at UniFi or the TP-Link Deco X55. Homes on modest broadband do not need Wi-Fi 7 at all.

Research-based listing — not hands-on tested by Digital4All; details as of September 2026.

What reviewers say

  • Engadget scored 79/100 and headlined its review "paying to be sold a subscription": the hardware passed its tests, but parental controls, historical usage, ad blocking and threat scanning sit behind eero Plus. (Engadget, Mar 2025)
  • Tom's Hardware called it the "middle child with middling performance" of the Wi-Fi 7 range, slotting between the eero 7 and the Max 7. (Tom's Hardware, Mar 2025)
  • Gizmodo gave 4/5, measuring more than 2 Gbps on the 6 GHz band near the router and about 355 Mbps in a difficult office spot; setup took five minutes, but you cannot split SSIDs per band and each node has only two Ethernet ports. (Gizmodo, Jul 2025)

Consensus: Reviewers agree the Pro 7 is fast, simple and well built, with two 5GbE ports per node. The disagreement is whether the app's paywalled features and lack of local control are acceptable, which Engadget says they are not.
